Today. Is.
Breathe in, breathe out. one minute at a time. On my walk this morning, we (Millie my dog and I, that is) ran into an old friend. Old friend. OLD friend. Sid ... who walks his two Schnauzers, Fritz & Paulie. Recently (last year) he acquired a new Yorkie, Pipsqueak. Anyway, I haven't seen Sid in a while, so he begins to fill me in. His wife Jeannie has cancer and it's not good. He talks about chemo, radiation, etc. .. prayer chains & people praying from all the churches around.
I tell him of course I'll pray for Jeannie. Walking away, I start asking Jesus: "So Lord, it would be great if You would just eradicate cancer totally from this world. What a crummy way to die. I mean, You are Love. You want the very best for us. So what is it about cancer? How come we have to deal with that? Why, when we reach the end of our lives, can't we just die in our sleep? Fall asleep in Your loving arms, and wake up to Your smiling face?"
I don't think that is an unreasonable request. Do you?
Maybe a garden shot would be nice. Thinking of His great love & all that ...
